What is "Fusionism"?

Fusions of human, animal, and abstract forms, imbued with mystical moods and mythical themes.

During the 1950's Smarkusz developed an abstract-surreal style of figurative art we refer to as "Fusionism".
Experimentation with Surrealist Automatism and dreamwork techniques aided the artist in the production of fascinatingly surreal and abstract imagery which appear as fusions of animal, human, and spiritual beings.
